AN ASPIRING AUTHOR

who finally stopped waiting for the right moment

So, here’s what happened…

I decided to stop pretending I wasn’t going to do this

At some point, the notes in the margins stopped being enough. I wanted to write something longer, something with a love story worth staying up for, and an ending that actually earns it. So I started. This site is where I’m keeping track of all of it, the progress, the reading life, the writing days that go well and the ones that really don’t.

WHO IS DANIELLE SLOANE?

It started with scribbling notes in the margins. Now I’m writing whole books. Somebody should have stopped me sooner.

I’m a writer with a head full of love stories and a stubborn habit of showing up at the page every day.

This is where I document the journey from first draft to finished novel, the real side of it, not the highlight reel.

when I’m brave enough to pull the trigger

my current priority
  • The never-ending editing process.

I finished my first manuscript, shelved it, and immediately started the next one. Then the next. Then three more after that. Before I had time to be sensible about it, I had five completed books living quietly in the cloud.
Now, with approximately one thousand new ideas still demanding to be written, I am finally doing the responsible thing and going back to the beginning. Final edits are underway.
A launch is coming. It turns out the hardest part of writing five books is admitting you have to stop and actually publish one.
